Al Quds Newspaper 22 October pg. 13 Through a research conducted by the College of Higher Learning at Al-Quds University “Juhoud has a great impact in accomplishing sustainable development and job creation in Rural areas” Jerusalem: Two students from Al-Quds University conducted a research entitled, “The role of Juhoud in finacing small projects in the Tubas Governorate”. The aim of the study was to assess the achievements and significance of sustainable development. The research contains 4 main sections. First, research objectives, target groups and target areas are clearly defined. Second, included a brief on the role of Juhoud and it’s important projects as well as it’s role in assisting low-income communities in Palestine. Juhoud’s programs include, humanitarian assistance, economic development, training, democracy, good governance and the role of women. The third and fourth sections include information analysis and evaluation of the beneficiaries involved in this project. Results were collected and summarized and a final chapter on the findings was reported. The Study concluded the following: - The program showed a high satisfaction among the beneficiaries assisted
- Juhoud’s programs clearly indicated a direct impact on rural Palestinian areas
- The program indicated a rise in employment levels in the targeted areas.
The research also shed light on Juhoud’s current inadequacies in fulfilling it’s projects and programs. First, Juhoud faces financial limitations due to a lack of donations from the donor community and second, most of the donations target large institutions and NGO’s which have prevented smaller NGO’s like Juhoud from developing and fulfilling its objectives. The research indicated that Juhoud does not direct its funding for administrative and logistical expenses. |
